Publish blog posts from Cursor

LotsBlog lets you publish blog posts from Cursor. Add the LotsBlog MCP server to your mcp.json, sign in once, and Cursor's agent writes tutorials and release notes from your code, saves them as drafts and publishes them on your own domain. Review and edit every post in the LotsBlog dashboard too.

Eligible new users get 10,000 free credits, valid for 90 days, with no card required.

What Cursor can do with LotsBlog

Cursor writes; LotsBlog stores, hosts and publishes. Once connected, Cursor can:

  • Create, edit and list articles, and save them as drafts with a private preview link.
  • Upload cover and inline images, and add topics.
  • Publish, schedule or unpublish posts. Scheduled posts go live on the next 15-minute check after their time.
  • Read your private blog guide (audience, voice, facts, rules) so every session follows it.
  • Connect a custom domain or example.com/blog, and check its status.
  • Read blog and article analytics, and run the optional AEO article check.

The LotsBlog dashboard does the whole job too: write and edit posts, schedule, manage images, appearance, team and domains. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

You need

  • Cursor, on any plan.
  • A LotsBlog account. You can create one during sign-in.

Connect Cursor to LotsBlog

  1. 1

    Open your MCP settings

Open Customize in the Cursor sidebar to manage MCP servers, or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (this project).

  2. 2

    Add LotsBlog

Add this server to mcp.json and save.

    { "mcpServers": { "lotsblog": { "url": "https://api.lots.blog/mcp" } } }
  3. 3

Cursor asks you to sign in the first time it connects. Finish the LotsBlog sign-in in your browser, then make sure the server is switched on in Customize.

  4. 4

    Ask for your blogs

In the agent chat, ask for your blogs to check the connection.

List my LotsBlog blogs and their latest posts

What to ask next

  • “Write a tutorial post for the feature in this file and save it as a draft”
  • “Update last week's post with the new API example and keep it published”
  • “Publish the draft and give me the live URL”

If something goes wrong

The server shows an error
Check the URL ends in /mcp. Open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U), choose MCP Logs, and toggle the server off and on in Customize to restart the sign-in.

Cursor and LotsBlog: questions

Should I add LotsBlog to every project?
Use ~/.cursor/mcp.json if you blog from many projects, or .cursor/mcp.json to keep it to one repository.
Does Cursor publish anything without asking me?
No. Saving a draft never publishes it. Cursor publishes or schedules only when you tell it to, and you can do the same from the LotsBlog dashboard.
Do I need an API key?
No. MCP clients sign in to LotsBlog with OAuth in your browser. API keys are only for the REST API, for scripts and your own apps.
